Hazel P. Tinsley, 93, of Springfield, Mo., beloved mother, wife, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Oct. 5, 2019. Hazel was born to the late David Crockett Ruble and Mary Elizabeth Ruble on October 15, 1925.
She married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Frank Tinsley, on September 28, 1946. They made their home in Poplar Bluff where they raised their family. She is preceded in death by her husband and seven
siblings.
Hazel is survived by her children, Scott Tinsley (Mary Ann) and Elizabeth White (David). Also surviving are her grandchildren, Carrie Bowler (Matt), Matthew Tinsley (Emily), Rachael Sherrill, Lauren Turpin and Christopher
Turpin. Hazel was also blessed by great-grandchildren, Madison, William, Justus, Anna, Grant, Tai and Georgia. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and Peggy Tinsley, Mike Turpin and George Sherrill.
Hazel was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her gift was treating people with respect and she had the ability to make everyone feel comfortable. She was easy to be with, never complained, loved the St. Louis Cardinals, playing
and watching golf, following Raiders basketball and being a Red Hat member. But, most of all, she loved her family. Hazel handled everything that came her way with grace and dignity.
The family wishes to thank the Maple’s staff for their loving and devoted care during the last years of her life.
There will be a visitation in Springfield on Wednesday, Oct. 9 from 5-7 p.m. at Greenlawn East Funeral Home. A celebration of Hazel’s life will be held at New Life Christian Church United in Poplar Bluff on Friday, Oct. 11. Visitation will be at 1 p.m., service at 2 p.m. and burial to follow.
