Gloria Dean Selvidge, 78, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., entered the gates of Heaven on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2019, in Poplar Bluff. Gloria Dean Selvidge, 78, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., entered the gates of Heaven on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2019, in Poplar Bluff.

Gloria, the daughter of the late William Frank and Minnie Margaret Rook Ramsey, was born Oct. 27, 1940, in Myrtle, Mo. She was an active and faithful member of South Poplar Bluff General Baptist Church for over 40 years, where she also served as a Sunday School teacher. Gloria was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who devoted her life to serving God and taking care of her family. She was an avid reader and enjoyed making afghans for her family and friends. She also enjoyed serving as an election official in the Hillview area of Butler County for over 30 years.

Gloria married the love of her life Carl Allen Selvidge on June 4, 1957, in Hernando, Miss. He preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 2009.

Survivors include four children, Scotty Allen (Debbie) Selvidge of McKinney, Texas, Margaret Suzy Selvidge and Poppy (David) Norden of Poplar Bluff and Juanita Christy (Jef) Fisher of Enterprise, Ala.; 12 grandchildren: Rebecca Visconti, Robert Allen Selvidge, Danica (Josh) LaFaire, Destra Stettler, Kristen (Adam) Crader, James David (Brittany) Norden, Joshua (Jessica) Norden, Zachary (Stormie) Norden, Morgan Fisher, Jeremy Fisher, Jacob Fisher and Justin Fisher; 16 great-grandchildren, Jeza Visconti, Vincent Selvidge, Avery Selvidge, Rory Villescas, D Άrtainian Vega, Addyson Crader, Jeffrey Crader, Ashleigh Crader, Alaina Labryer, Kynleigh Norden, Paisley Norden, Remington Norden, Camryn Norden, Ryleigh Norden, Blakely Norden and Dawson Norden; brother Jack Willard (Sandi) Ramsey of California; two sisters, Rosemary Jean Rone of Poplar Bluff and Betty Jane Stone of Mountain Home, Ark. and many nieces, nephews and church family.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Keith Luke officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
