BALLWIN, Mo. — Gerald Mark Bage, son of the late Gerald Barnes Bage and Wathena Malin Bage VanAmburg, was born Dec. 15, 1954, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022, at his residence in Ballwin, Missouri, at the age of 67 years.
Mark was raised in Campbell, Missouri, and was a 1973 graduate of Campbell High School. He attended Southeast Missouri University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and graduated with a B.S. in Industrial Technology in 1977.
On June 4, 1977 in Cape Girardeau, he was united in marriage to Barbara Jean Bertrand.
Mark was retired from Paulo Products where he worked as a Heat Treatment Process Engineer for 40 years. Mark was a member of Pathfinder Church in Ellisville, Missouri. He enjoyed photography, golfing and cross country driving trips with his family.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara, of Ballwin; sons, Jonathan Bage (Liisa) of Vantaa, Finland, Brian Bage (Shannon) of Wildwood, Missouri, and David Bage (Stephanie) of Apex, North Carolina; granddaughters, Ayla and Autumn Bage of Wildwood, Peyton Bage of Apex, and Linnea Bage of Vantaa, Finland; sister, Elizabeth Bage Ingles (Jeffrey), of Ballwin; brother-in-law, Mike Bertrand (Kim) of Marion, Montana; sister-in-law, Cherri Bertrand of Jackson, Missouri; step-father, Norman VanAmburg of Van Buren, Missouri; step- brother, Drew VanAmburg of Cape Girardeau; aunts, Robin (Ben) Till and Iris (John) Hunt of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; uncles, Wendell Malin of Tennessee, Robert Malin of Arizona and Jerry Malin of Illinois; nieces, Emily Wade (Jon) of Jackson, and Nicole Wesemann (Andrew) of Ballwin; nephews, Andrew Bertrand (Bly) of Jackson, and Thomas Ingles (Donna) of Goodlettsville, Tennessee; cousins, Martin Till, Jeffrey Till, Heather Nagy and Camille Hunt, Beth Bauer; great-niece, Charlotte Ingles; great-nephews, Benjamin Ingles, Kevin, Benjamin, and Dominic Wade, Graham and Jagger Bertrand, Jacob and Carter Wesemann, and many friends, co-workers and neighbors.
Other than by his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Alberta Bage, Edna Bage Williamson and Frank Williamson, and Maggie Place Malin and William O. Malin; mother-in-law ,Dorothy Bertrand; father-in-law, Harry F. Bertrand; brother-in-law, Harry F. Bertrand, Jr.; uncles, William Malin and Carl Ray Malin; aunts, Frances Bruemmer and Sharon Crawford; cousin, Benjamin Till; and dear friend, Hannu Melaluoto (father of Liisa Bage).
Services: Funeral service at Pathfinder Church, 15800 Manchester Road, Ellisville, at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 11. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Campbell, at 3:30 p.m. If desired, contributions may be made to American Lung Association or Pathfinder Church.
