Georgia Lee Risener, 96, of Festus, Missouri, passed away July 6, 2024 in St. Louis, Missouri.
She was born Oct. 7, 1927 in Ellsinore, Missouri, daughter of the late John Van Dyke and Missouri Van Dyke (Moss).
Georgia worked as a Beautician/Cosmetologist for Georgia’s Beauty Shop. In her free time, she enjoyed embroidery, sewing, caring for her flowers, and working in the yard.
She was a member of Twin City Church of Christ of Festus .
Georgia is survived by her loving family which includes her daughter, Sandra (Jim) Cunningham of Festus; step-daughter, Julia (Phil) Morgan of Paragould, Arkansas; sister, Virginia Robinson of Jackson, Missouri; grandchildren, Holly (Eddie) Blair and Wendy (Bobby) Crouch; great-grandchildren, Brenden, Megan, Logan, Peyten, Alesia, and Emily (Bradley); great-great-grandchildren, Adelyn, Jaxson, and Westen; numerous family members and beloved friends.
Along with her parents, Georgia was preceded in death by husbands, Paul Hays, Lacy Wright, and Joe Risener; brothers, Emitt (Mary Evelyn) Van Dyke, and Arnet Van Dyke; sister, Coalee (Lester) White; and brother-in-law, Lorn Robinson.
A graveside service will be held in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Poplar Bluff, Missouri, at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 11 with Patrick Adams officiating.
A memorial service will be held at Twin City Church of Christ in Festus at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 13 with Patrick Adams officiating.
