Gene "Papaw" Tubb, the son of the late O.V. Tubb and Fairy Grissom Tubb died on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at his home. He was born on Aug. 8, 1930 at East Alton, Ill. He lived 87 years.
A resident of Harviell, Mo. Papaw was a welder, enjoyed raising cattle, wood works and especially enjoyed his children and his grandchildren. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
On Feb. 25, 1951 at Pocahontas, Ark. he was married to Velma "Mamaw" Pennington, she preceded him in death on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017. They were married 67 years.
Papaw is survived by his children: Dianne Smith of Portageville, Mo., Karen Nored of St. Louis, Mo., Deborah Tubb of Harviell, Mo., Pamela Wheetly of Harviell and Donald Tubb of Oxly. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Caroline Frazier on Dec. 13, 2011. He is also survived by four half sisters, Dorothy Smith, Ola Koehler, Ann Aamiskas and Linda Tubb; one half brother, Dale Tubb; 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Darlene Roe and Letha Greenman and one brother, Billy Ray Tubb.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fowler and Sons Funeral Home in Neelyville, the funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the Fowler and Sons Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in the Cochran Cemetery near Harviell.
