Leonard Gene Hooker, 82, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Friday Jan. 28, 2022, at his home.
Gene was born on April 8, 1939, to Paul Haywood and Ruby Jewell (Jackson) Hooker, in Risco, Missouri. He married Linda Lee (Worley) Aug. 18, 1957, in Poplar Bluff.
Gene worked in insurance sales and later retired as Accounts Manager for Kneibert Clinic in Poplar Bluff. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed gardening, horseback riding, square dancing, and bowling. The times he treasured most were times spent with his family.
Gene is survived by his wife Linda of the home; three children, Tammy (Jackson) Bostic of Poplar Bluff, Teresa (N’Ray) Campbell of Pocahontas, Arkansas, and LaDonna (Kenneth) Moore of Poplar Bluff; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Jewell Hooker.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022, at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral Chapel with the funeral service following at 2 p.m., with Chaplain Bill Hatch officiating. Burial will take place at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
