FESTUS, Mo. -- Graveside services for Frankie Marie Shanks, 94, Festus, Missouri, formerly of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, May 7, 2018 at Patrick Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Shanks passed away at 7 a.m., Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Crystal Oaks Nursing Home, Festus.
She was born July 23, 1923, at Piggott, Arkansas, to Charles Martin and Carrie Burch Martin. On Nov. 3, 1942, she was married to Harley Ray Shanks at Zanoni, Missouri, who preceded her in death on March 29, 2004. Frankie completed high school in Dora, Missouri and went on to attend Draughn's Business College, Springfield, Missouri. Mrs. Shanks worked as a secretary for St. Paul Insurance Company in St. Louis for a number of years. Mr. and Mrs. Shanks owned and operated a mobile home park and mini storage in Poplar Bluff for many years. She was a member of Poplar Bluff Artist Guild. She was very good at multi-tasking, was an artist and enjoyed photography. Mrs. Shanks was a member of Church of Christ, she had attended Poplar Bluff Church of Christ for many years, where she served as secretary and most recently attended Twin City Church of Christ, Festus.
She is survived by two daughters, Beverly Gansner and husband, Dick, Festus, and Barbara Perez and husband, Joe, Tampa, Florida; two granddaughters, Carrie Waller and Christy Hueter and husband, Andy; and five great-grandchildren.
Her parents, husband and one sister, Byrdella Morrison, preceded her in death.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Twin City Church of Christ for the benefit of Belize Church of Christ Primary School and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
