Floyd Polsgrove was born June 21, 1927, in Campbell, Missouri and passed away July 12, 2021, at his home in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 94. Floyd Polsgrove was born June 21, 1927, in Campbell, Missouri and passed away July 12, 2021, at his home in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 94.

Floyd was married to Peggy Froman on October 1, 1949, in Campbell, Missouri; they were married for 68 years. He was the father of three children, one son, Kent Polsgrove (Ann) of Dexter and two daughters, Karen Lane of Dexter and Kay Stevenson of Manchester, Missouri.

Additional survivors include eight grandchildren, Marianna Lane, Sarah Jarrell (Brad), Nicole Haze, Martha Kolker (Justin), Michelle Lane, Kendra Noyes (Jordan), Tyler Stevenson and Madison Lane along with six great-grandchildren, Brandon, Emily, Walker, Weston, Brock and Campbell.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Bud Crawford, Fred Polsgrove, Oather Polsgrove, Lois Boring, Murl Geer, Margaret Abernathy, Mareda Dalton and Harold Polsgrove.

After returning home from military service in the U.S. Navy following the end of World War II, Floyd attended and graduated from the University of Missouri in 1953. Later, he became a senior supervising engineer for the Missouri Department of Transportation where he remained through retirement after 35 years. From St. Louis headed south, Floyd built his family right alongside Interstate 55 until making their last homestead in Campbell, Missouri.

Floyd was also active within the community. He was a Mason, an active Rotarian with the Dexter Chapter, a scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America, a community service volunteer with the Cotton Boll Council of the Girl Scouts of the United States of America, an organizing member for the Bootheel Youth Museum in Malden, Missouri and an organizing member of the Peach Fair Board in Campbell, Missouri. He continues to be a member of the Presbyterian Church in Columbia, Missouri, but was in frequent attendance at the First United Methodist Church in Dexter.

Visitation will be Friday, July 16 from 10 a.m. until noon at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. Graveside services will take place at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 16 in Woodlawn Cemetery in Campbell.
