Emma Jane Thorne, 83, of O’Fallon, Illinois passed away Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021. She was born in Poplar Bluff on July 26, 1937 to the late Ira Francis and Hazel (Colcher) Francis. She was a longtime resident of Poplar Bluff and Dupo, Illinois.
She married David Maurice. While tending to things in the home, she also enjoyed gardening her flowers and of course, her family.
Emma is survived by one son, David Thorne, Jr. of Columbia, Illinois; one daughter, Kimberly Pace of Millstadt, Illinois; two sisters, Dorothy Campbell of Poplar Bluff and Sue Worley of Gillespie, Illinois; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild as well as a multitude of in-laws, nieces and nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Gary Edwards; two brothers, Richard Francis and Donald Ray Francis.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021 at 10 a.m. in the Fitch-Hillis Chapel. Graveside services will be a Woodlawn Cemetery in Poplar Bluff at 11 a.m. with Elder Robert Duckett officiating. Masks and social distancing is recommended.
