EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Eloise McMinn, 98, died Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Sikeston Convalescent Center in Sikeston, Missouri. She was born Dec. 16, 1919 in Berry to the late David Asher Jones and Allie Pluma (Gray) Jones. Eloise was the oldest living member of Southside Baptist Church of Charleston, Mo.and had worked as a cafeteria manager for Chrysler Corporation and a cashier for Reeves Boomland when they opened in 1977 before retiring...

EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Eloise McMinn, 98, died Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Sikeston Convalescent Center in Sikeston, Missouri.

She was born Dec. 16, 1919 in Berry to the late David Asher Jones and Allie Pluma (Gray) Jones.

Eloise was the oldest living member of Southside Baptist Church of Charleston, Mo.and had worked as a cafeteria manager for Chrysler Corporation and a cashier for Reeves Boomland when they opened in 1977 before retiring.

On Dec. 25, 1935 in Martin, Tenn. she married Thomas Rye McMinn; he preceded her in death May 10, 1980.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Elbert Jones, Charles Jones, Glen Jones and Norman Jones; one sister, Belma Lucille Howard; one son-in-law, Bobby Cole; and one infant grandson.

Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Cole of Charleston; two grandchildren, Pamela (Billy) Fox of Sikeston and Penny (Paul) Davis of Poplar Bluff; two great-grandchildren, Ryan Fox, D.V.M. of Columbia, Mo. and Brooke (Cody) Hindes of Monett, Mo.; one great-great-grandson, Landon Davis Hindes; and one brother, J.W. "Dickie" Jones of Muldrow, Oklahoma.

Visitation was Wednesday, May 9, from noon until time of funeral services at 1 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery in Charleston. Pallbearers will be Billy Fox, Paul Davis, Johnny McMinn, Ken Stevenson, Harlan Douglas and Ricky Penrod.
