E.L. “Lee” Kearbey, Jr, 68, of Poplar Bluff died Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.Lee was born June 9, 1954, in Poplar Bluff to E. Leroy Kearbey Sr. and Nancy Mae (Files) Kearbey. On Aug. 12, 1973, he married Karen Sue Caringer.
After retiring from the family-owned Kearbey Ford Tractor & Recreational Vehicles he opened Kearbey’s Farm Market, where he raised the best strawberries in Missouri. He was a loving husband, dad, and papa, whose life revolved around his family.
Survivors include his wife, Karen; son, Lee (Jen) Kearbey III; daughters, Kara Kearbey and Kelly Kearbey; grandsons, Elijah Bounds and Kaden Johnson; granddaughters, Aliyah Bounds, Whitney and Mariah Kearbey, and Aubrey and Lorynne Johnson; and great-granddaughter, Nalani Bounds.
His parents and a brother Daniel Kearbey preceded him in death.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, June 9, with a Celebration of Life following at First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. Pastor Brandon Spain and Pastor Monty Flanigan will officiate.
Memorial donations may be made to the Poplar Bluff Animal Shelter or Boys & Girls Club of Poplar Bluff.
