Earl G. Roehrs, 57, of Sullivan, Mo., passed away suddenly Friday, Feb. 28, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Earl Gene was born Oct. 10, 1962 in Sullivan, Mo. He grew up and attended school in the Sullivan and Poplar Bluff areas, graduating from Poplar Bluff High School in 1980. Earl was a hard worker during his life. On March 3, 1997 he proudly established his muffler shop, J&K Muffler. Earl loved his community and generously assisted many people with his time and skills as a repairman.
Earl was united in marriage to Lisa Mastin Feb. 24, 2010 and between this blended union, they had six children: Jerrad, Jennifer, Kyle, Ross, Jeremy and Sabren. He enjoyed many hobbies, including hunting, fishing, motorcycles and cars, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Earl’s life changed forever when he came to accept Jesus Christ as his Savior. His faith became the difference in his life and his number one desire was for his family to be faithful followers of Christ as well. Earl was an active member of Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan, where he served as an usher and was very integral in the bus driving ministry for the youth and children’s ministry on Wednesday. His biggest regret was that he wasn’t able to win more souls for the Lord. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his family and friends.
Earl is survived by his wife, Lisa Roehrs of Sullivan; his children: Jerrad Roehrs of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Jennifer Roehrs of Union, Mo., Kyle Roehrs and wife, Kelcey, of Sullivan, Mo., Ross Halbert and wife, Amanda, of Sullivan, Mo., Jeremy Falloon and wife, Mandy, of St. Louis, Mo., and Sabren Mastin of Sullivan, Mo.; his mother, Joanne Ossendorf of St. Clair, Mo.; one sister, Cyndi Godwin of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; his grandchildren: Skylen Roehrs, Tyson Roehrs, Trevor Brand, Riley Brand, Niko Makic, Quinn Roehrs, Kamden Roehrs, Kinley Halbert, Kasen Halbert and Kaylor Halbert; two nieces, Katie Godwin and Kyla Nunn and husband, Rhett, all of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; and other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his stepdad, Butch Ossendorf.
