Douglas Ray Boxx, 64 of Poplar Bluff passed away on Monday, Feb. 10, 2020 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Douglas was born Sept. 25, 1955 in Piedmont, Mo., the son of Edward and Zada (Trindle) Boxx. On Feb. 1, 1986 he married Jana Jorde in Coon Rapids, Minn. Together they shared more than 34 years of marriage.
Douglas was a retired lineman. He was a generous man who enjoyed hunting, fishing four wheeling and his poopy dogs and cats.
Douglas’ greatest passion in life was his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed going to all of grandchildren’s sporting events and was their biggest fan.
In addition to his wife, Douglas is survived by his children, Kelly (John Harden) Hahn-Boxx, Douglas (Melissa) Brookerson, Dale Brookerson, Nadia Boxx and Jay Boxx; grandchildren, Drake Harden, Myles Harden, Tyler Brookerson, Savannah Brookerson, Abby Brookerson, and Devon Williams; siblings, Laverne (Alice), Melvin Boxx , Judith Boxx, Janelle Lotshaw, Candy (Bernie) Moss, Jim (Cheryl) Jorde, Nancy Pearson, Sara (Lenice) Jorde and Jennifer (Bruce) Jorde.
Douglas had a special bond with his multiple nieces and nephews and his two bonus grandchildren, Josiah Naveraz and Artez Bryant.
Douglas was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Lanny Boxx and Billy Boxx.
A private family service celebrating Douglas’ Life will be held at a later date.
