FISK, Mo. -- Dorothy Louise Young, age 87, of Poplar Bluff, formerly of Fisk, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017 at her residence, in Poplar Bluff. Mrs. Young was born Nov. 30, 1929 in New Madrid, daughter of the late James and Violet Davis. She had been a resident of Fisk for about 40 years. She was a member of the House of Prayer in Fisk.
On Feb. 16, 1948 she married Clovis Young at Piggott, Ark. He preceded her in death March 22, 1988.
She is survived by four sons: Alton Young, Leon Young and Tim Young and wife Kim, all of Poplar Bluff, and Kenny Young and wife Gale of Wiggins, Miss.; three daughters: Phyllis Howard of Poplar Bluff, Laverne Mossman and husband Tom and Shirley Woolem and husband Dwight, both of Fisk; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Ruth Benthal and Naomi Thatcher and one brother Doyle Davis all of New Madrid.
She was also preceded in death by three sons: Alvin, Ralph and Edward Young; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; two brothers: James and Pete Davis and one sister Imogene Benthal.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017 at White-Sanders Funeral Home, Fisk. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m., in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jim Sanders officiating. Burial will be in Shain Memorial Cemetery at Fisk, Mo.
