Doris (Talcott) Garver

DESOTO, Mo. — Doris Marie (Talcott) Garver, age 79, of DeSoto entered into rest Dec. 21, 2019 at her residence in DeSoto. She was a homemaker and enjoyed crafting, and going on scouting outings. Doris was a long-time member of the Boy Scouts of America where she served as Scout leader as well as Leadership Trainer. She attended First Baptist Church of Herculaneum. Born April, 26 1940, in Poplar Bluff, to the late Preston Gaylord Talcott and Phebe Jane (Malone) Talcott.

Doris is survived by her loving family which includes her daughter, Stephanie (David) White of Mehlville, Mo.; sons, William (Barbara) Garver of Desoto, David (Jennifer) Garver of Beverly Hills, Calif.; sisters, MaryJane Bankston of Arkansas, Helen Lipsey of Arnold and Bessie Chilton of Arkansas; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, George David Garver; brothers, Fred Talcott and Roy Talcott.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be donated to the National Kidney Foundation at 1001 Craig Rd. #480, St. Louis, MO 63146. There are no formal services planned at this time.
