DONIPHAN, Mo. - Donald Ray "Big Don" Bulington, 75, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Mr. Bulington was born October 2, 1942, in Lafayette, Indiana. He had been a horse trainer. Don trained wagon horses and enjoyed trading horses. He founded the Ripley County Wagon Train Association and was a former member of the Ripley County and Cypress Creek Saddle Clubs. Big Don enjoyed going to the Farmington horse sale, traveling to rodeos and he especially loved his family. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church and was a veteran of the United States Navy.

Surviving are eight children: Joyce Sandlin, Josh Brewer and Jonathon Brewer, all of Doniphan; Jason Kauffman of Jefferson City, Missouri, Carolyn Welsh of Virginia, Patsy Clabo and Stephen Bulington, both of Atlanta, Georgia, and Don Bulington, Jr., of Indiana; special friends, Amber Fowler and Jefferey Monaghan; and several grand and great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Terry Bulington and James Kauffman.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Friday, January 5 at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel and burial will be in the Hunt-White Cemetery with full military honors.
