FISK, Mo. - Dawna Gwen Leutert, age 57, of Fisk, Mo., died Friday, August 18, 2017 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, in Poplar Bluff, Mo. Mrs. Leutert was born March 19, 1960 in Cape Girardeau, Mo. daughter of the late Bill Eugene and Leona Frances Besher. She had formerly worked at Rowe Furniture for several years. After Rowe closed the Poplar Bluff plant Dawna enrolled in SEMO State University and received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary education. She had taught 3rd grade at Puxico Elementary School for the past five years and was very passionate about her students. She was a Cardinals baseball fan, loved spending time with her grandchildren and traveling with her friends. She was formerly married to Ricky Leutert. He preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband: Tom DeCourley of Fisk, Mo.; five children: Josh Besher (Amy), Amy Caldwell (Jerry), Matt Leutert (Theresa) all of Fisk, Leevon DeCourley (Kadee) of Crane, Mo. and Samantha McFarlen (Jeff) of Dexter. 12 grandchildren: Joe, Matt, Abby, Leann, Madison, Ricky, Jacqueline, Cody, Jenna, Haylie, Jerra and Lacie and one great grandchild due in March. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sam Brotherton, Pastor Scott Wilkerson and Rev. Allen Leutert officiating.
