David H. Wendel, 69, of Panama City Beach, Florida, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2021.
David was born on October 17, 1951 in Granite City, Illinois. He was raised in Kimmswick, Missouri and attended St. Pius High School. He went on to graduate from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy, and to own his own Pharmacy in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. David was extremely active in Elks as Exalted Ruler and collector of Elk Memorabilia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Margaret Wendel.
Left to treasure David’s memory is his sister, Rita Johnson; brother, Ken Wendel (Darlene); nephews, Keith Wendel (Pam), Kevin Wendel (Lizzy) and Jeremiah Johnson; nieces, Dawn Kohls (Scott) and Jamie Stark (Nathan); great-nephews and niece, Jacob, Luke, Eli, Arlo, Wyatt, Waylon, Adia and Shelby and furry friend, Samson.
A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, June 13 from 2-5 p.m. at the Elks Lodge in Poplar Bluff.
