David L. Miller, 81, of West Covina, California, passed away on May 24, 2021. David was born on April 20, 1940, to Lewis and Gayle Miller in Sikeston, Missouri. His family would later move to Poplar Bluff, Missouri. After graduating from Poplar Bluff High School in 1958, he would go on to get a Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Union University. David L. Miller, 81, of West Covina, California, passed away on May 24, 2021.

David was born on April 20, 1940, to Lewis and Gayle Miller in Sikeston, Missouri. His family would later move to Poplar Bluff, Missouri. After graduating from Poplar Bluff High School in 1958, he would go on to get a Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Union University. At Union, he pledged the fraternity Sigma Alpha Epsilon.

After graduation, he traveled to Southern California to work for Security Pacific National Bank. He would later get a job with Unocal rising in the ranks of the corporation to become the Manager of Special Projects.

David met his future wife, Sue Sams, in the local Baptist church. They dated in high school, throughout college and got engaged after he moved to California. Shortly thereafter, they would be married in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1963. They would go on to have two children, Michelle and David Scott.

David would retire from Unocal after more than 30 years of service. He then turned his attention to volunteer services. He served as the treasurer with the Auxiliary of Foothill Presbyterian Hospital, Glendora. In addition, he would give his time to his church where he learned and performed with their handbell choir, served as treasurer and as an elder. His heart of service extended to the helping of many as he gave of his personal time, his talents and his treasure.

After the passing of Sue, his wife of 40 years, he would marry Carol Volpe.

David was predeceased by his parents, Lewis and Gayle and his wife, Sue. He is survived by his sister, Carol Summers; his son, David Scott Miller; his daughter, Michelle Cordich; her husband, Michael and their two children, Cameron and Rachel and Carol Volpe and her family.
