DONIPHAN, Mo. — Darlene Elizabeth Blackwell, 77, of Aurora, Mo., formerly of Ripley County, died Friday, June 7, 2019 in the Hartville Care Center in Hartville, Mo. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 11 at 1 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Harwell officiating. Burial will be in the Hunt-White Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

DONIPHAN, Mo. — Darlene Elizabeth Blackwell, 77 year-old resident of Aurora, Mo. and former longtime resident of Ripley County, Mo. departed this life Friday, June 7, 2019 in the Hartville Care Center in Hartville, Mo. Darlene was born November 15, 1941 in Naylor, Mo. to the late B.B. and Leta Lee Adams. She enjoyed playing golf, riding horses and participating in team penning events; her most favorite activity was following her children and grandchildren in their various sports, traveling many miles watching them play and coach. She was also a member of the First Christian Church in Naylor.

On August 25, 1962, at the First Christian Church in Naylor she was married to Jimmy Dalton Blackwell, who preceded her in death January 17, 2016.

Surviving are three children, Jimmy Dalton “Jimbo” (Donna) Blackwell of Eminence, Mo.; Jami Blackwell Brown (Rob) of Aurora, Mo.; Joey Blackwell of Doniphan; grandchildren, Brett (Maggie) Reed, Haily (Logan) Boles, Darra (Justin) French, Jaysa (Kyle) Mickey, Bo (Fallon) Blackwell, Malarie Blackwell, Jackson Blackwell-Leroux; great-grandchildren, Brilee Boles, Chase Boles, Peyton French, Jagger French, Chett Mickey, Taytum Reed; one sister, Kathy (Short) Deckard of Springfield, Mo.; and one brother, Bob (Janice) Adams of Doniphan; two brothers-in-law, Harry (Vivian) Blackwell of Naylor and Rob (Vicki) Blackwell of Poplar Bluff; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Darlene will be held Monday evening, June 10, 2019 from 5-8 PM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 11 at 1 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Harwell officiating. Burial will be in the Hunt-White Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Eminence Lady Redwings Basketball program or the Hartville Eagles boys basketball program.
