Daphne A. Hershey, age 85, of Greenville, passed away Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
She was born June 6, 1933 at Bounds Creek, near Greenville, Mo., the daughter of Glen W. Twidwell and Dollie (Bridges) Twidwell.
A lifelong resident of Wayne County, Daphne had managed the Gish-Bowles Funeral Home in Greenville for many years. She had been a member of the Order of Easter Star #337 in Greenville since 1972 and was of the Baptist faith. She was married to Bob Hershey and he passed away January 3, 2005.
Also preceding her in death are her parents, Glen and Dollie Twidwell; three brothers, Forrest Twidwell, Roger Twidwell, Glendell "Booge" Twidwell; and a grandchild, Brandi Beckett.
Survivors include two children, Dennis Hershey, of Greenville, Mary Ann Crites and her husband Richard, of Greenville; a sister-in-law, Pat Twidwell, of Piedmont; two grandchildren, Amber Sturgeon and her husband Matt, of Greenville, Mandy Sutton and her husband Ron, of Patterson; five great-grandchildren, Cooper, Parker, Mia, Thatcher and Drake; along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Morrison-Worley Funeral Chapel in Greenville with Bro. Dan Ross officiating. Burial will be in the Greenville Cemetery. Memorials have been requested to the George Twidwell Cemetery and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
