MONROE, N.C. -- Claudine D. Brawner danced and sang with her angels on her journey to her Heavenly Home from the Jesse Helms nursing center July 17, 2016 in Monroe, N.C. Her laughter, fun, and loving abilities were contagious, even to those she had only met once. She relocated to Charlotte, N.C. in 2005. She packed up her memories to leave the Little
House on Light Plant to be closer and enjoy her immediate family.
Bill (Virgil Adoff) until 1984 was and is THE LOVE OF HER LIFE, from the street car he had picked her up on the snow covered tracks in St. Louis, dancing to San Antonio Rose during his time of service in Charleston, S.C., and experiencing a Hurricane. They also joined the First Christian where Bill and his daughter were baptized together on an Easter Sunday. The Homebuilders Sunday school class, sponsoring the CYF serving as a deacon. In addition, they were known for their Boston Terriers, and V.W's.
Claudine cherished being an office nurse at McPheeter's Clinic and all of her patients, colleagues, and personnel. Her generous attitude for those she met created a social network of lasting friendships and compassion with roots forever grounded to Poplar Bluff. She had to rely on these because she lived most of her days visually impaired - her life was evidence of seeking out the wonders of life and she possessed the knack of finding a humorous side in every challenge.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Billie Joyce Brawner Montgomery, granddaughters: Amanda J. Lane and Jessica K. McKnight of Cary, N.C.: her step-sister in Sunnyville, Calif., her nieces in St. Louis, nine great nieces and nephews, along with three great-grandchildren, and great-grand dog, Max. We take comfort in knowing she has a Spiritual Home and that there is more for her soul and ours. Dance on, Claudine.
A graveside memorial service will be held at City Cemetery at 2 p.m.,
Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017.
