Clarebel Hogg Gray, 95, of Poplar Bluff, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at Oakdale Care Center. Mrs. Gray, the daughter of the late James B. and Mae (Hart) Hogg, was born Jan. 15, 1925, in Poplar Bluff. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, where was a Sunday School teacher and a member of the church choir. Mrs. Gray had retired after as bookkeeper for Poplar Bluff R-1 School District. She enjoyed volunteering at her church and at Lucy Lee Hospital. The times she treasured most were with her family, children and grandchildren. Her husband, Robert Ewing Gray preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 2003. Survivors include two children, Nancy Gray of Poplar Bluff and Bob (Emily) Gray two grandchildren, Robert Benjamin (Aonya) Gray and Alison Clare (Jason) Chamberlin of Birmingham, Ala.; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A brother William R. ‘Bill’ Hogg and two sisters, Mollie Chornak and Dorothy Hammons also preceded Mrs. Gray in death.
