Charles Richard Mitchell of Naylor, Missouri, born to Charles Guy Mitchell and Alice (Phillips) Mitchell June 16, 1932, passed away Sept. 21, 2020.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Evelyn (Davis) Mitchell Sept. 29, 2008 after 46 years of marriage and two sisters, Virginia Million and Mabel Runner.

Richard served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict and was honorably discharged after six years of service. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #568 in Naylor, for 49 years and nine months.

Richard was an avid Civil War enthusiast and loved to take his grandson, David Seratt, to all the Civil War Re-enactments and use his photography skills during the reenactments. As a professional photographer, he traveled Northern Arkansas and Southern Missouri taking pictures of the beautiful natural scenery for his company, Colonial Picture Division.

Richard was a kind and giving person who has helped many people and made friends with everyone he met. He saw the good in all people.

Survivors include, daughter, Alivia Clark (Ted) of Rose Bud; son, Richard (Butch) Hayes (Debbie) of Sullivan; three stepchildren, Rodger Seratt of Naylor, Tim Seratt of Doniphan, and Sharon Whelchel of Rogers, Arkansas; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family asks that donations be made to the Masonic Lodge #568 of Naylor in lieu of flowers.

Funeral services will be held at Fowler & Sons Funeral Home in Neelyville Missouri Thursday, Sept. 24. Visitation will start at 10:30 a.m. and the funeral will begin at 11 a.m. followed by burial at Black Creek Cemetery in Poplar Bluff, Missouri
