Carroll Sue Belt, 86, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., entered the gates of Heaven and lovingly met face to face with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018 at Oakdale Care Center in Poplar Bluff.
Carroll, the daughter of the late Elden and Elva Mae Grogan Kirby, was born Oct. 16, 1931 in Kennett, Mo. She was a faithful member of Westwood Baptist Church, where she served on the Mission Board and worked as a greeter and in the nursery. Carroll worked for many years as a secretary, office worker and assistant at Parks Animal Hospital. She also served in the Poplar Bluff Kindergarten Foster Grandparent Program. Her greatest joys were spending time with her family and church family, being at church serving her Lord and taking care of everyone who came into her life. Carroll was also a master at working jigsaw puzzles.
Carroll married Noah J. Belt, the love of her life on Oct. 13, 1948 in Kennett. Mo. He preceded her in death in 1978.
Survivors include her children, Dennis J. Belt and his wife, Debbie of Cabot, Ark. and Loretta "Retta" Carroll Minner and her husband Dennis of Poplar Bluff; four grandchildren Lauren Tisius and her husband Eric of Pearland, Texas, Carrie Cole and her husband Courtney of Oklahoma City, Okla., Dennis Minner, Jr. and his wife Lindy of O'Fallon and Susan Minner Taylor and her husband Ron of New York City, NY; six great-grandchildren, Autumn Tisius, Nathaniel Cole, and Bella and Kinley Minner and Noah and Ally Taylor; a brother, Bobby Kirby of Flint, Mich.; a spiritual daughter Anita Birdsong; a spiritual sister Kay Hook; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
Carroll was also preceded in death by a son, David Ray Belt, a great-grandson, Hunter David Minner, a brother, Elmo Kirby and six sisters, Lucille Allen, Rose Mae West, Louise Avery, Helen Ford, Doris Jean Watson and Barbara Anderson.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at Westwood Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff with a Celebration of Carroll's Life following at 10 a.m. Dr. Steve Proctor will officiate and her grandson Denny Minner will assist. Burial will be at Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
