POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. — Carmela Mae Bryeans, 84, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Friends may call after 10 a.m. until time of service on Saturday, April 6 at the Memorial Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. Funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. at the church on Saturday with Rev. Dennis Ward officiating. Burial will be at New Morley Cemetery in Morley, Mo.

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. — Carmela Mae Bryeans, 84, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

She was born on April 3, 1934 in Blodgett, Mo. to the late Henry and Marvel Gaither Isaacs. She married William C. Bryeans on June 8, 1951 and he preceded her in death on June 2, 2007.

Carmela was a retired special education teacher with the Poplar Bluff School system in Poplar Bluff. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff.

She is survived by a daughter, Linda (Bill) Burfield of Poplar Bluff; a brother, Allen Issacs of Ste. Genevieve, Mo.; a sister, Laila Knupp of Cape Girardeau; two grandchildren, Alex (Chelsea) Burfield of Fulton, Mo. and Adrienne Burfield of Manhattan, New York ; three great-grandchildren, Caden, Max and Drew.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Steven and Michael Bryeans; two sisters, Othela Cook and Junea Moore.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. until time of service on Saturday, April 6 at the Memorial Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff.

Funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. at the church on Saturday with Rev. Dennis Ward officiating. Burial will be at New Morley Cemetery in Morley, Mo.
