Carl Edward Miller

FISK — Carl Edward Miller, age 79, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Friday, Jan. 17, 2020, at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff surrounded by his wife and children.

Mr. Miller was born Aug. 31, 1940, in Poplar Bluff, son of the late Thomas Earl and Eda Miller. He was a retired carpenter. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran. On Aug. 6, 1993, He married Linda Thorn-Bettuo. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Carl E. Miller II (Jeanette) and Trace Bettuo (Kristy), both of Poplar Bluff; one daughter, Mandy Burgin (Mike) of Ellsinore; one brother, Lee Miller (Shirley) of Nixa, Mo.; three sisters, Mary Turner of Santa Paula, Calif., Ethel Deaton and Jean Deaton (Jim Dunne), both of Poplar Bluff; nine grandchildren, Olivia and Sydney Miller, Haley Whelchel, Ethan and Kinsley Bettuo, Michael, Jacob, Isaiah, and Abby Burgin; and one great-grandchild, John Whelchel.

He was also preceded in death by six siblings, Carrroll, Everett, Robert and James Miller, Evelyn Nelson and Maxine Hendrix.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 20, 2020, at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk. Funeral services will be at noon on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Carlos Boyer officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens at Poplar Bluff, Mo.
