SIKESTON, Mo. -- Bonnie E. Vent, 77, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at her home in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Born July 9, 1940, in Canalou, Mo., to the late John and Vearnies Landers Tharp.
On May 17, 1970, in Canalou, she married Phillip Stephens who was the love of her life.
Survivors include: three sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael and Jennifer Crider of Wappapello, Mo., John and Michelle Crider of Florida, and Phillip Stephens of Poplar Bluff; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Debbie and Nickey James of Texarkana, Ark., Darla and Adolfo Padron of Uhland, Texas, Peggy and Jimmy Fowler of Puxico, Mo., Bonita and Gerald Lewis and Phileatha Stephens, all of Poplar Bluff; five sisters, Rita Tharp of Bethel, Okla., Janet Nelson of Water Town, Tenn., Lena Adams of Dexter, Mo., Phyllis Griffin of East Chicago, Ind., and Faye Spencer of Canalou; 35 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: one son, Herschel Stephens; one daughter, Thanya Lorene Crider and one sister Mary Griffin.
Visitation will be Sunday July 16, 2017 at 1 p.m. until the time of memorial service at 2 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, Mo. with Pastor Catherine Bryant, pastor of Wappapello United Methodist Church, officiating. Internment will follow at Puxico cemetery.
