Billie Joe Butler Sr. 74, of Poplar Bluff passed away Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017 at the Missouri Veteran's Home in Cape Girardeau. Mr. Butler was born Dec. 27, 1942 in Poplar Bluff, Mo, to the late Harvey and Lillian(Spangle) Butler. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was a retired postal worker and enjoyed hunting, fishing and raising his grandkids...

Billie Joe Butler Sr. 74, of Poplar Bluff passed away Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017 at the Missouri Veteran's Home in Cape Girardeau. Mr. Butler was born Dec. 27, 1942 in Poplar Bluff, Mo, to the late Harvey and Lillian(Spangle) Butler.

He was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was a retired postal worker and enjoyed hunting, fishing and raising his grandkids.

July 22, 1963 he married Goldie Edna (Payne) Butler. She preceded him in death.

Surviving are children; Billie Joe Butler Jr.(Tess), Nicole Loyd (Terry): grandchildren: Bryce, Troy, Tommy and Wynter Butler, Regan Sparks, Nicholas and Jerith Loyd; one great-granddaughter, Payslee Butler;and a sister; Alicia Morgan.

Mr. Butler was preceded in death by his wife, Goldie Edna Butler; parents, Harvey and Lillian Butler; son, Harvey Gene Butler; and brothers Jerry and Bud Butler.

Visitation will be from 6 -8 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017 in the funeral home chapel with Ron Fowler officiating. Burial will follow in Kinsey Cemetery with full military honors.
