Audrey Harmon passed away on May 9, 2018 at Mark Twain Nursing Home in Poplar Bluff, Mo. with her family surrounding her. She was born on June 27, 1927 in Yorkshire England to Thomas and Lucy Smith.
Audrey grew up in Yorkshire and Hinckley England. After school she joined the Women's Land Army in England. She was employed for many years with Safeway And Key Rexall in Poplar Bluff.
Audrey married Tommie R. Hurt in Hinckley England. They were happily married for eight years, until the time of his death in 1953. In 1966 she married Burley Harmon; he preceded her in death in 1994.
Audrey was a member of Fellowship General Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, working in her garden and watching hummingbirds. She also loved a good cup of tea and biscuit with friends and family.
Audrey is survived by her son, John Hurt (Connie) of Fairdealing; daughters, Elizabeth Church (Steve) of Post Falls Idaho; Edith Armor (Jack) of Poplar Bluff; Dezra Kerntz of Newark, Ohio; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and many special friends.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Lucy Smith; two brothers, Leslie and John; sister, Dorothy Wyant; and son-in-law Joe Kerntz.
A memorial visitation will be at 10 a.m. on May 17, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Fellowship General Baptist Church. Family will have a private internment at the City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Alzhemimer's Foundation Of America.
