CORNING, Ark. - Mr. Arlie Dewitt Owens, 84, of Corning, AR., passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. Mr. Owens was born in Corning, on April 20, 1934. He was a former Deputy Sheriff and CID with the Clay County Sheriff's Department, he also served as an elected Clay County Constable, and was a retired used car salesman. ...

CORNING, Ark. - Mr. Arlie Dewitt Owens, 84, of Corning, AR., passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. Mr. Owens was born in Corning, on April 20, 1934. He was a former Deputy Sheriff and CID with the Clay County Sheriff's Department, he also served as an elected Clay County Constable, and was a retired used car salesman. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He enjoyed playing music, collecting guns and attending car auctions. He was Church of Christ in faith.

He married his wife of 39 years Mrs. Lavone (Ormsby) Owens on Aug. 17, 1979, she survives. Other survivors include three brothers Jack Owens of Poplar Bluff, Arvil Owens of Corning, Glen Owens of Rockford, IL.; one sister Shirley Bryant of Corning.

He was preceded in death by his parents James Haris Edgar and Bessie Irene (Payne) Owens. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Earl Ladyman officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018 from noon until the time of service.
