Alfred Mitchell Webb

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. — Alfred Mitchell Webb of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Thursday, May 30, 2019. He was born February 16, 1926 in Tallapossa, Mo., to the late George Elmer and Gracie May (Deprow) Webb. He was a licensed barber, for 32 years he barbered in St. Louis, Farmington and Greenville.

On July 1952, he married Mary Lou Helm of Greenville. To this union was born three sons, Alfred Mitchell Webb Jr., Michael Guy Webb, and David Wayne Webb.

Alfred and Mary ran a pallet mill in Clubb, Mo, they also ran a quilt shop in Branson Mo. for 18 yrs.

They were well known wherever they went for being kind, loving and friendly to all they met.

Alfred and Mary were of the Jehovah Witness faith for 48 yrs. And enjoyed going door to door and speaking with people about the Bible. They returned to Poplar Bluff in 2005 and continued to practice their faith.

Alfred remained in his home thanks to Mary’s loving compassionate care.

Survivors include his wife Mary; a son, David (Theresa) Webb; six grandchildren, Jason, Michelle, Angela, Jamie Webb McGee, Leslie and Dewayne; seven great-grandchildren, Lauren, Zane, Hayley, Johnny, Connie Brodie and Annie. He is also survived by an extended family and will be missed by many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Mitchell and Michael and a daughter from a previous marriage, Janice Sue Webb; three sisters, Louise, Elsie and Bubbles; three brothers, Charles, Doyle and Cleo; two granddaughters, Barbara Jean and Willene.

Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Sunday, June 2 at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. Funeral Service will begin at 2 p.m. Monday, June 3 in the chapel with burial to follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
