Albert “Cotton” Eugene Alexander, 81, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Friday, April 1, 2022.
Cotton was born on Jan. 29, 1941, to John and Ethel (Sibley) Alexander in Butler County, Missouri. He married Linda Robison on Oct. 11, 1962.
Cotton was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and a member of The Gideons International. He was a teacher for many years at Poplar Bluff High School and coached the Mules softball team from the first days of the program until he retired in 1994. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Cotton is survived by his wife; one daughter, Lisa (Carlos) Boyer; three grandchildren, Ryan (Kalie) Alexander, Cindy (Ben) Siebert, and Alexis Nippe; two great-grandchildren, Kenzlie and Leighton Siebert; all survivors reside in the Poplar Bluff area.
Cotton was preceded in death by his parents; two children, Mark Alexander, and Cindy Alexander.
Funeral services will be on Monday, April 4, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Robert Edwards officiating. Burial will take place at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Butler County, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Gideons International or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
