A Poplar Bluff woman was killed and a Williamsville man seriously injured in a pair of accidents which occurred Saturday in Butler County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The first accident occurred at 2:05 a.m. on U.S. Highway 67, five miles north of Poplar Bluff.
According to the report, Timothy A. Gilliam, 21, of Williamsville was operating a 2001 Ford Escape northbound when it ran off the road and overturned, ejecting him.
Gilliam suffered serious injuries and was transported via Air Evac to St. Louis University Hospital.
The second accident occurred at 5:49 p.m. on County Road 465, one mile west of Poplar Bluff.
According to the report, Gina N. Eberhardt, 32, of Poplar Bluff was operating a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt when it lost control and struck a southbound 2016 Ford F-150 operated by Seth I. Barris, 21, of Poplar Bluff. Eberhardt was not wearing a safety device.
Eberhardt was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:51 p.m. by Butler County coroner Jim Akers. Her body was transported to the Butler County morgue.
Eberhardt is the 47th fatality in Troop E this year. Barris was not injured in the crash.
