The annual Williamsville/Black River Volunteer Fire Department Benefit Chili Supper will be held from 4-8 p.m. Oct. 7 at the fire department in Williamsville on Highway A.
Attendees will be able to choose from chili and a peanut butter sandwich, a hot dog and chips, or a chili dog and chips. All meals include dessert and a drink.
According to organizers, the evening always includes a much-anticipated and hotly contested benefit auction, hosted by Col. Haven Willis, professional auctioneer. The auction will begin at 7 p.m. and will include baked goods (cookies, cakes, pies) and various donated items.
"Area businesses have been very generous in years past, donating items for the auction," noted fire department volunteer Lee Hillis. "Donations for this year's event would be appreciated as well."
Donors who want to support the event may contact him at 573-712-3082, or Megan Hillis at 573-870-0203.
Annual fire tags will be available for purchase, and proceeds from the event will be used to purchase needed equipment and gear for fire department volunteers.
