Missouri and its neighboring states are in line for one more blast of winter weather. A winter weather advisory has been called from noon until midnight on Friday.

Southeast Missouri can expect snow beginning between 2-8 p.m. Friday, with likelihood of snow increasing as temperatures drop later in the afternoon and evening.

“At this point in time we’re looking for an average of about an inch across the entire area,” said a representative of the National Weather Service Paducah.

There may be variation in accumulation of up to another inch, but that is highly unlikely in and around the Bootheel region. Butler County has a 32% chance of receiving an inch or more of snow. Travel impact on the area is expected to be minimal.

The cold temperatures Friday night may flash freeze wet surfaces, especially overpasses and bridges. Temperatures will hit a low of around 17 degrees Saturday morning. A wind chill of 6 degrees is predicted. The rest of the day will hover around the freezing mark.

Sunday is expected to have highs in the mid-50s and lows in the mid-30s.
