The Daily American Republic is following reports of widespread storm damage across Ripley, Wayne, Butler and Stoddard counties following a severe storm that began moving through around 1 p.m.

It includes a woman trapped in a Poplar Bluff home on Center Street with a downed tree, non-injury vehicle crashes in Butler County with trees down in the road and sections of Highway 67 north of Poplar Bluff closed due to downed trees.

Law enforcement is in the process of reopening roads.

A homeowner at Neelyville also reported a roof ripped from a home, a Stoddard County resident reported a vehicle thrown by high winds and Poplar Bluff airport reported winds of 66 mph.

A building has also been damaged at Gamblin Lumber.

The DAR will continue to follow these reports and update this story through the afternoon.
