WAPPAPELLO — Wayne/Butler County Public Water Supply District 4 (Wayne/Butler PWSD 4) received a check in the amount of $4,147.09 from the Missouri Public Utility Commission, presented to the district by the Missouri Rural Water Association.
Wayne/Butler PWSD 4 is a member of the Missouri Rural Water Association, the Administrator of the Missouri Public Utility Commission Interim Loan Program. The MPUC provided the construction funding that allowed the district to complete water system improvement projects. The check received by the district from the Missouri Public Utility Commission is a rebate of interest costs during the construction of the improvements.
“This is a culmination of years of hard work with federal and state agencies to keep our water system in compliance and to continue to provide safe, potable drinking water to district customers,” District Manager Jennifer Pierce said.
Pierce thanked the staff and elected officials, current and past, who brought this project to completion. She also gave a special shout-out to the United States Department of Agriculture-Rural Development, particularly Whitney Watts, for her tireless assistance and for making this project affordable to the residents of the district.
“Wayne/Butler PWSD 4 has been a member of MRWA for years and the Missouri Public Utility Commission Interim Loan Program is one of the many member benefits offered by MRWA,” drinking water circuit rider Joe Anstine of the Missouri Rural Water Association said. “A special thanks to D.A. Davidson & Co. for their continued support and efforts in making the Interim Loan Program a success.”
