A reception will be held from 1-4 p.m. Sunday at Margaret Harwell Art Museum for the December and January show, a display from the Missouri Star Quilters.

The reception will have a Victorian Christmas theme, said Steve Whitworth, museum director. Hot cider punch and cookies will be served.

The Missouri Star Quilters’ Guild is a group of quilters from Poplar Bluff and the surrounding areas, according to information from the museum. Their mission is to foster and enhance the art of quilting; to educate it’s members in methods and technique of the care and creation of quilts and to stimulate interest in the community.

The group also works to promote and preserve the heritage of quilting. They meet at 6:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month at First United Methodist Church, 500 N. Main St. Visitors are welcome and workshops are held monthly, according to the group.

Quilts will be on display at the museum until Jan. 26.

The MHAM is open from noon-4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and

1-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
