EASTWOOD, Mo. — A 27-year-old Van Buren man was seriously injured in a one-vehicle accident Friday afternoon in Carter County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Dustin L. Dowdy of Van Buren was operating a 2005 Jeep Liberty eastbound at 12:40 p.m. on Highway F, two miles east of Eastwood, when one of the vehicle’s tires blew out, causing it to slide. The vehicle then ran off the right side of the road and overturned.
Dowdy suffered serious injuries, while a 4-year-old girl in the vehicle sustained minor injuries. Both were transported by Carter County Ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
