Vacation Bible School events are in full swing across the area.

While some have been held or are ongoing, Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church will open its doors to families July 15-17.

The three-day VBS will be held from 6-8 p.m. with a theme of Get On Board Cruising With God’s Family.

The church is located at 913 Garfield St. Carolyn Marshall is the Sunday school superintendent, directors are Sapphira Halliburton and DaRonda Robinson. The Rev. Tommy Robinson is the pastor.

VBS kicks is taking place this week for First Baptist Church of Poplar Bluff, happening in the mornings Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It is open to kindergarten through sixth-grade-aged youth. It has the theme God’s Rock, solid truth in a world of shifting sands. The church is located at 551 N. Westwood Blvd., and can be reached at 573-785-1431.

First Church of God will hold VBS from 6:30-8 p.m. nightly July 31-Aug. 2. Located at 3482 S. Westwood Blvd., the church will offer a light meal, games, lessons and worship. It is open for grades pre-kindergarten through sixth. For more information, call 573-785-5378.

Westwood Baptist Church also offered its Jungle Journey VBS this week, concluding Wednesday.

Vacation Bible School held a SCUBA theme this year at Fellowship Church as they helped youth “dive into friendship with God” and included a foam party in June.
