On Oct. 23, around 11:45 deputies responded to the area of County Route 401 in reference to a stolen vehicle being located that was being operated by Lucas Henson, 36, of Ironton, upon responding officers attempted to stop Henson in the stolen vehicle. Henson fled and it is believed he set a wooded area on fire to aid in his escape. He was apprehended later by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper James Rowe. He was arrested and transported to the Butler county Justice Center where he remains. Charges will be requested for receiving stolen property as well as felony fleeing. According to Butler County Sheriff Mark Dobbs, the stolen vehicle, a 2007 Dodge, was recovered and the US forestry also responded to help with the fire which burned less than two acres.

The U.S. Forest Service Law Enforcement Division will conduct further investigation as to the arson of the wooded area that occurred in the Mark Twain national forest. Potential charges of arson may be forthcoming as well.
