Two people were injured seriously in a pair of weekend accidents, one on Highway 25 south of Dexter Sunday morning and the second a boating accident on Clearwater Lake in Reynolds County Saturday afternoon.
Angelia M. Turner, 28, of Ellington suffered serious injuries in a boating accident at Webb Creek Marina on Clearwater Lake at 2 p.m. Saturday.
According to the accident report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Todd J. Gilbert, 40, of White Hall, Illinois, was operating a 2007 Southbay pontoon boat westbound on the lake when it approached the gas dock. Turner reportedly put out her foot to slow down the boat when her foot slipped and was crushed between the dock and the vessel.
Turner was taken by Air Evac to Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
The second accident occurred at 2:40 a.m. Sunday on Highway 25, one-half mile south of Dexter.
According to the MSHP accident report, Dawson A. Moore, 19, of Bloomfield was operating a 2015 Cadillac ATS northbound on Highway 25 when it ran off the roadway and struck a utility pole.
Moore was taken by helicopter to St. Louis University Hospital. At 3:06 a.m., he also was arrested by the MSHP on suspicion of DWI, texting while driving and failing to drive on the right side of the roadway.
