Two men died, and a woman sustained serious injuries in a trio of separate one-vehicle accidents over the weekend in Southeast Missouri. Mark A. Turner, 64, of Portageville and Joseph C. Two men died, and a woman sustained serious injuries in a trio of separate one-vehicle accidents over the weekend in Southeast Missouri.

Mark A. Turner, 64, of Portageville and Joseph C. Miller, 34, of Ellington both were killed in separate accidents Saturday evening in Pemiscot and Reynolds counties respectively, while Kimberly J. Hill, 41, of St. Louis was seriously injured in an accident Sunday in Dunklin County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Turner was operating a 2016 Honda Rancher westbound at 5:14 p.m. Saturday on County Road 318, four-tenths of a mile south of Hayward in Pemiscot County when it traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a ditch embankment and overturned.

Turner was pronounced dead at 5:45 p.m. Saturday by Pemiscot County coroner Jim Brimhall. His body was taken to the morgue at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital.

Turner is the 40th fatality in Troop E in 2021.

Miller was operating a 2012 Ford F150 truck eastbound at 7:46 p.m. Saturday on Highway HH, 10 miles south of Ellington in Reynolds County. The vehicle crossed the centerline, traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree before coming to rest, according to the report.

Miller was pronounced dead at 8:39 p.m. Saturday by Wayne County EMS. His body was transported by the Reynolds County corner to McSpadden Funeral Home in Ellington.

Miller is the 18th fatality in Troop G this year.

Hill was operating a 1992 Honda ATV southbound at 2:18 a.m. Sunday on Dunklin County Road 207, seven miles north of Campbell when it overturned in the roadway, ejecting Hill.

Hill was taken by Air Medical to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
