Two people were killed Friday in separate truck accidents in Southeast Missouri.

A 50-year-old woman was killed in a one-vehicle accident at 9:54 a.m. Friday on Highway C in Ripley County, two miles south of Handy.

According to the report, Andrea C. Hawks, 50, of Doniphan was southbound in a 1993 GMC pickup when she ran off the roadway and struck a tree.

Hawks was pronounced dead at the scene by Ripley County coroner Mike Jackson at 11 a.m. that morning.

Later that morning, a 53-year-old man was killed in a one-vehicle accident at 11:18 a.m. at 713 First St. in Kennett.

According to the report, Darrell D. Goss, 53, of Kennett was operating a 2021 GMC Sierra northbound when the vehicle ran into a business.

Goss was pronounced dead by Dunklin County coroner James Powell at 11:35 a.m.

Hawks and Goss are the 31st and 32nd fatalities in Troop E this year.
