BENTON, Mo. -- A Sikeston man and woman are facing drug charges after being arrested Wednesday, July 11.According to Scott County Sheriff Wes Drury, deputies executed a search warrant in Miner, Mo., in a motel room.
Tiron S. Mitchell, 44, and Jennifer J. Hartzog, 43, were located in the room along with two plastic baggies with a rock-like substance, a white powdery substance and a green leafy substance. A prescription bottle containing 34 prescription tablets was located in the bathroom.The two bags of rock-like substance weighed approximately 5.1 ounces and field tested positive for methamphetamine. The powdery substance weighed approximately .5 grams and field tested positive for cocaine.
The green leafy substance field weighed approximately .5 grams and tested positive for marijuana.
The prescription pills were identified as alprazolam.Mitchell and Hartzog were transported to the Scott County Jail.
At the jail, Hartzog was searched and officer found two plastic baggies located on her person that contained prescription pills identified as controlled substances.Mitchell was charged with the Class A felony of trafficking drugs in the first degree, three counts of the Class D felony of possession of a controlled substance and a Class A misdemeanor of possession of a controlled substance.
He remains in custody at the Scott County Jail on a $50,000 cash bond.Hartzog was charged with two counts of the Class D felony of possession of a controlled substance, Class D felony of possession of a controlled substance at a county jail and other misdemeanor drug charges.
She also remains in custody at the Scott County Jail with a $5,000 cash or surety bond.
