Two area residents were seriously injured in separate crashes Wednesday morning.
The first crash occurred at 6:10 a.m. on Highway A, two miles north of Williamsville.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Sarah A. Hillis, 24, of Williamsville was operating a 2003 Ford pickup northbound when it ran off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole before overturning.
Hillis was taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The patrol then investigated a two-vehicle crash at 7:53 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 25 and Highway D, three miles north of Bernie.
The patrol reports Robert A. Hatton, 52, of Bloomfield was operating a 2007 Freightliner Conventional tractor-trailer westbound when it allegedly pulled into the path of a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe.
The SUV, which was being operated northbound by Joshua A. McDaniel, 27, of Bernie, allegedly struck Hatton’s towed unit.
McDaniel was taken by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau for treatment.
