Twin Rivers R-X superintendent Ben Johnson announced he will resign at the end of the school year during a board meeting Thursday evening. He said he is seeking other opportunities.

“We’ll immediately start taking applications for that position,” said board president Jeff Arnold, adding, “It’s going to take some searching. We don’t have anyone in mind.”

Johnson has served as superintendent since 2020. Arnold noted his resignation was unexpected but came in plenty of time to begin the search for a replacement. The search process typically takes a couple of months.

“We’ve got plenty of time to look for somebody,” he said.

The district will be accepting applications online at www.tr10.us/employment, or dropped off in person at the central office at 9348 Highway 51 in Broseley during school hours. Candidates will be interviewed by the board.

Johnson was unable to be reached for comment at this time.
