Details have been released regarding the Tinnin Fine Arts Center’s 2024-25 season program to the Board of Trustees Wednesday afternoon. Among the headline shows will be the Oct. 3 Broadway Fright Night and the Nov. 16 Vienna Boys Choir.
President of Three Rivers College Dr. Wesley Payne also highlighted the Dec. 3 Celtic Angels Christmas show and the Jan. 30 Piano Men Billy Joel tribute act. Tickets for each event are $15 unless otherwise stated. A full calendar of events and ticket sales can be found at trcc.edu/tinnin-fine-arts-center.
The information was shared Wednesday during a Board of Trustees meeting. The board also received July’s financial report from TRC Chief Financial Officer Charlotte Eubank. She informed the board that state appropriations, a feature of last year’s July report, will instead be reflected in the August distribution.
Regardless, the college updated its van fleet.
“We’ve been able to update some of our oldest vehicles,” Eubank informed.
She also presented the maturation of TRC’s certificates of deposit with People’s Bank. Eubank chose to renew the certificates because the bank offered the highest rates of return.
In other business, Payne stated the process for developing the next five-year, college-wide strategic plan is nearing completion. He said the current plan expires in 2025.
Included in the meetings for the new plan will be a comprehensive assessment of the goals and standards set out in the previous program. Payne added he is working with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness on both efforts.
“We’ve had two meetings so far very dedicated group doing a lot of great work,” he affirmed.
Payne also reported on the success of recent fundraising and educational events. The ninth annual Run for the Arts raised nearly $5,000 for fine arts scholarships.
“We were really close to a record this year,” he confirmed.
Payne also applauded the organizers’ efforts of the second annual Battle of the Bulls.
“It was really a great fundraiser for our rodeo program,” he said.
For future events, Payne presented the Sept. 22 Rocky’s Fan Fest. The event will be at the Libla Center from 2-5 p.m. and will feature free hamburgers, snow cones, cotton candy, and beverages.
“It will serve as the kickoff to our athletic season,” Payne added.
Also on the calendar is the Mental Health Summit on Sept. 25 and the high school Preview Days on Sept 27-28.
Finally, Payne stated nominations for next year’s distinguished alumni award are due Sept. 30.
