The expo will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Pentecostal Power Church located at 4025 S. Ward Ave.

The expo is a one-day learning experience designed for fifth- through 12th-graders who have unique learning needs, special education and transition personnel, agencies who support youth who are in transition, family members and community.

Discussions are focused on the preparation of youth for transition to post-secondary education, employment, independent living and community experiences.

Speakers will be Brenda Owens, an employment specialist for Poplar Bluff Mers Goodwill, and Michael Chiodini.

Owens will discuss her own challenges growing up with a disability and how she overcame and how students can succeed despite the challenges they face.
